Hi everyone!!! Stumbled onto the podcasts about a week ago and have made my way through 4-5 while driving…..what great resources for us new comers. Wife and I bought a zombiemat last year right about the week before COVID became a thing!! Our timing was great….insert sarcasm here. Have dumbed our way through some things, made some of the improvements, and plan for many more once the weather breaks. We even bought out and gutted another “abandoned” mat that we stumbled upon on a Sunday drive. We have three kids that all help and we are enjoying getting to know our customers and welcome ones back that had been going elsewhere. Looking forward to hearing more stories and learning about actionable advice.

Hi Dan, My name is Sherrie Myers – Husband and I are in negotiations for a Zombiemat in Las Vegas Nevada. It will be a total gut and rebuild. Any advice will be appreciated.

            Hi Sherrie!

I am afraid I do not yet have the experience to help you. With our situation and the timing and COVID weighing heavily, we have not yet retooled it yet. We did some things we learned from the CLA forums and lots of reading….
            New coat of paint
Added detergent, snack, and soda vending machines
Got and KEEP the place clean
            New LED lighting
Have a much more visible presence
Interact with customers when we are there
Provided a way for customers to contact us and get a refund if we are not around (we are unattended)
Got and keep a much higher percentage of the machines operational
We did remove 6-7 ancient dryers and replaced them with used, but much newer, models

Keep looking and keep learning! There are TONS of resources out there and available and it is absolutely amazing to me how many successful veterans of this industry are so very willing and kind to share some of their vast knowledge.

            Best of luck!
